Synthesis approach is not common practice in human evolution also due to a deficit of knowledge in the methods, thus reducing the incentive for data sharing and collaborative work. In the frame of HEIRS, training workshops are organised regularly to disseminate the knowledge and expertise to lead synthesis work correctly and efficiently. We propose three types of workshops:
- Introduction to synthesis and systematic review for human evolution – Level I (3 days)
- Quantitative reviews and meta-analyses in HE – Level II (3 days)
- FAIRing your data – All levels (1.5 days)
In addition, leaders of synthesis groups will receive an induction on the best practices for collaborative groups of scholars, based on the practices from other synthesis centres and our own experience.
