Call for Group Synthesis Project 2025B – Human Evolution and Biodiversity

HEIRS is opening, in partnership with the FRB-Cesab -Centre for the Synthesis and Analysis of Biodiversity, a call for a group synthesis project that combines aspects of human evolution and biodiversity. Proposals must advance biodiversity and human evolution research by supporting the generation of innovative interdisciplinary approaches or the development of accessible high-quality datasets. Thus, proposals can take one of two forms:

  • The IdeaShare emphasizes the creation of new concepts, models, and methods through interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together biodiversity and human evolution experts with specialists from other fields to explore new perspectives and frameworks.
  • The DataShare focuses on accelerating the assembly, curation, harmonization, and open sharing of datasets, ensuring that they are accessible and reusable for future syntheses and analyses.

Proposals must be submitted either as IdeaShare or as DataShare format using the appropriate application forms. Each group will consist of maximum 8 (IdeaShare) and 10 (DataShare) members and will be funded for two years (three meetings of five days each). The groups will receive scientific, technical and administrative support from the FRB-CESAB team and the HEIRS team, and technical support from PNDB (DataShare groups). Deadline for application is the 8th of September 2025.
